KAJA LEIJON
ALTRO MONDO
Spazio 4235
via Goito 8 - Genova
18/03/2016 - 13/05/2016
As the world is getting bigger and bigger, we will be smaller. Even clearer. Rediscovery of something of another world. The foggy and damp. Looking another way. An image captured almost anonymously, challenging and threatening, searching, like an honest gaze to the world. Non-content. An image with so much space reflects the common gradient, awakens and shatters all popular photographic methodologies that try to reflect meaning. Meaning is in the material.
Kaja Leijon (b. 1980 Tromsø) lives and works in Oslo. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Oslo and CalArts in California. Her work has been shown at MELK Oslo; KONTORprojects Copenhagen; Kunsthalle Mainz, Germany; UKS, Oslo; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Fotogalleriet, Oslo and Taiwan National Museum of Fine Arts.
